For the construction industry, Ash & Lacy products and systems are regularly tested by independent UKAS accredited organisations such as the Centre for Window & Cladding Technology (CWCT) and Exova Warringtonfire and Lucideon, and accredited by globally recognised bodies such as the British Board of Agrement. Through this continued investment in testing alongside innovation and product development, we strive to give our customers the peace of mind that Ash & Lacy products are not only compliant with the latest Building Regulations, but will also stand the test of time.

Warringtonfire Fire Tests to EN 13501-1
Warringtonfire are a UKAS accredited testing and certification body that has classified all Ash & Lacy systems to the most rigorous standards available for cladding that forms part of the exterior of a building: BS EN 13501-1:2018. Under UK Building Regulations (amended in November 2018) any component which forms part of an external wall on a ‘relevant’ residential building must achieve either Euroclass A2-s1, d0 or Euroclass A1 to the classification standard EN 13501-1. All Ash & Lacy’s tested systems have achieved Euroclass A2-s1, d0 or Euroclass A1 to EN 13501-1, more details below:
EN 13501-1 Classification: MechSlip Brick Cladding – A1
- Comprehensive system classified A1 by third party assessment.
- Valid for A1-classified stone/mineral wool insulation of ≤340mm thickness.
- Valid for cavity depth of 25-100mm.
- A1 classified support systems: AxiAL AX1 & AX2 (6063T6 grade aluminium); AxiAL AXR1 & AXR2 (316 grade stainless steel).

EN 13501-1 Classification: NaturAL-X Brick Cladding – A1
- Comprehensive system classified A1 by third party assessment.
- Valid for A1-classified stone/mineral wool insulation of ≤340mm thickness.
- Valid for cavity depth of 25-100mm.
- A1 classified support systems: AxiAL AX1 & AX2 (6063T6 grade aluminium); AxiAL AXR1 & AXR2 (316 grade stainless steel).

EN 13501-1 Classification: AxiAL AXR1, AXR2, AXR3 and AXR4 – A1
Stainless steel rainscreen support systems:
- System material: 316 grade stainless steel.
- Entire system classified A1 to EN 13501-1 by third party assessment.
- System tested with A1-classified stone wool mineral wool insulation of ≤340mm thickness applied.
- Suitable for use with any rainscreen cladding system.
- Cavity applied to AxiAL AXR Series during these tests: 25-100mm.
Centre for Window and Cladding Technology (CWCT) Tests
CWCT (Centre for Window & Cladding Technology) Standard Test Methods for Building Envelopes determine the level of serviceability of a façade or rainscreen cladding system when subjected to typical climactic levels of water, air and solid object impact. The final classifications derived from the results depend on factors such as the maximum air pressure reached or the severity of damage after an impact.
A Centre for Window and Cladding Technology member, Ash & Lacy ensures all applicable rainscreen cladding systems are subjected to these test standards and will achieve the values expected.

Warringtonfire Fire Resistance Tests to BS EN 1364-1
Warringtonfire are a UKAS accredited testing and certification body that have classified a range of Ash & Lacy SFS systems to the most rigorous standards available for determining the fire resistance of non-loadbearing walls – BS EN 1364-1.
The test results outlined below can be applied to external non-loadbearing walls.

British Board of Agrement (BBA) Certifications
If a building product carries a BBA certification, that means the BBA have assessed numerous tests and aspects of the product (such as impact tests, fire reaction tests, production procedures and quality, the installation guidance and documentation and how the product is installed on site, to name a few) before stating that they are satisfied the product is suitable for numerous construction applications (e.g. for use on high-rise residential blocks, low-rise residential building and other applications).
