Part Time Accounts Assistant, West Bromwich

The role of an Accounts Assistant will be to support the finance department in line with company processes and procedures and also to provide financial information to management and teams as required.

Requirements

  • Purchase invoice matching and processing.

The role will cover responsibility for supporting all sites, whilst managing and developing a team of engineers based in the Midlands. Guillotine Operator, Smethwick

To set, operate and manufacture with the use of varying guillotine machines, steel and aluminium products for the building and construction sector, as a part of a full offering of building envelope solutions for various projects across a multitude of industries.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret sheet metal product drawings and cutting lists.
  • Set and operate guillotine machines (e.g Cincinnati, Amada).
  • Use of forklift trucks to move material.
  • Check/inspect and document quality results to ensure products are sheared correctly.
  • Adhere to company quality assurance standards and support continuous improvement steps.
  • Work both individually and as a team dependant on the size of product required.
  • Ability to work out the optimum sheet utilisation.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Mig Welding mild steel and Tig Welding Aluminium, thickness ranging from 1mm up to 3mm.
  • Operate all equipment correctly and safely, following all working procedures.
  • Report any defects in manufactured goods, consumables or tools so they can be rectified promptly.

Sales & Customer Service Executive – Smethwick

Working alongside a team of sales and estimators to ensure that all estimates and quotations are handled professionally and timely. Continually improving processes and procedures to ensure accurate tracking of projects and costs originating from initial estimates whilst ensuring commercial deadlines and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) are met.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance to company procedures.
  • Report KPIs to the manager to ensure targets are met in a cost-effective way.
  • Generation of reports as required to evidence sales/estimating performance and orders won rates to quotes.
  • In case of Lost orders report on reasons and actions being taken.
  • Monitor workload and distribute accordingly. Awareness of importance and ability to secure order.
  • Report and understand conversion rates, and prioritise focus in line with company objectives (Product type, client, and size etc.).
  • Understand and report against lost/won reasons and ensure sales/estimating function affected to ensure improvements.
  • Receive enquiries and produce quotations and estimates using an in-house software package.
  • Ensure robust processes and procedure implemented and adhered to ensure accuracy and repeatability.
  • Obtain raw material costs by liaising with suppliers as appropriate.
  • Process quotations, and ensure company Terms and Conditions always engaged in agreement.
  • Handling samples and project mock-up requests to support clients.
  • Handle telephone enquiries from architects/clients/quantity surveyors/contractors.
  • Visit clients/sites as and when required.
  • Maintain paper and electronic filing systems.
  • Assist in the generation of orders and of contract costs for each order won.
  • Agree and advise customers of initial order deliveries and initial acknowledgements.

Graduate Civil/Structural Engineer

Due to high business volumes, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Graduate Civil/Structural Engineer in the Ash & Lacy engineering team. This role will focus on the project engineering of façade products/systems, aluminium and stainless steel supporting systems and steel structures in the construction industry. As one of our engineering team members, the candidate will also help to provide engineering and analysis for new product development and existing product improvement, if required. This is an exciting role for a graduate engineer to join a progressive and forward thinking company with clear goals and growth plans.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Working on a variety of structural engineering projects, including façade, aluminium and stainless steel supporting systems etc.
  • Engineering support for company projects from concept design to completion.
  • Technical support programme and documentation development for products/systems.
  • Engineering and analysis for new product development and existing product improvement.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Degree qualified in a structural, mechanical or civil engineering related subject.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the structural performance of building products/systems.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Computer skills for day to day work including MS Office, AutoCad etc.
    3D modelling software, FE software and thermal modelling software knowledge and skills are not required, but a working knowledge of some or all of these would be a distinct advantage.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in the construction industry is preferable, but a graduate who can demonstrate a good theoretical/numerical knowledge and skill is also acceptable.
