Engineering Excellence Since 1857
Ash & Lacy is a leading UK manufacturer delivering innovative engineered solutions across the Construction, Automotive, and Engineering sectors. With origins dating back to 1857 and formal incorporation in 1864, the company has grown from a pioneering metals business into a diversified group serving customers across the UK and worldwide.
Today, the Ash & Lacy Group brings together the combined expertise of Ash & Lacy Construction, Ash & Lacy Automotive, and Engineering forming one integrated organisation built on technical excellence, innovation, and quality.
Construction
Our Construction division is a recognised leader in engineered façade systems, roofing solutions, interior systems, and architectural components for the built environment. We manufacture an extensive range of metal systems and complementary products, including fasteners, load‑bearing components, rainscreen façades, and advanced perforated and acoustic solutions designed to enhance both performance and visual impact. Supported by full in‑house testing facilities, 3D design capability, and engineering analysis, we provide complete project support from early design through to installation.
The division also incorporates specialist capabilities that strengthen our offering across the construction sector. Through our AccordialTM expertise, we deliver high‑performance acoustic movable walls and sliding folding partitions that are manufactured at our West Bromwich facility and installed in leading hotels, conference centres, educational institutions, sporting venues, and commercial spaces. Their reputation for robust engineering, acoustic excellence and long‑term reliability complements our wider portfolio of interior and building‑performance systems.
In addition, Halo Solar enhances the division with integrated solar shading and photovoltaic technologies that help architects and contractors achieve sustainable, energy‑efficient building designs. These renewable solutions sit naturally alongside our architectural façades and screening systems, supporting the growing demand for low‑carbon, future‑focused construction.
Together, these combined capabilities create one of the industry’s most comprehensive construction portfolios, enabling us to deliver façade systems, roofing solutions, interior partitions, acoustic products, and renewable technologies under a unified, technically advanced manufacturing group.
Automotive
Ash & Lacy Automotive supplies a wide range of precision‑engineered components, interior trim products, acoustic solutions, and perforated metal parts for the global automotive industry.
With over 65 years of specialist automotive expertise, we offer complete in‑house capability, from initial design sketches through prototyping, tooling, perforation, pressing, and final production. This vertically integrated approach ensures the highest level of consistency, quality, and performance across each programme.
Our unique metal‑perforating and expansion capabilities position us as the UK’s leading manufacturer in this field. We support both UK‑assembled vehicles and internationally produced models, contributing to the continued global influence of British automotive engineering.
Engineering
The Engineering division of Ash & Lacy brings together advanced perforated metal solutions, bespoke manufacturing services, and engineered components for a wide range of industrial and architectural applications.
Our facilities produce complex perforated sheets, expanded mesh, acoustic panels, and custom‑engineered parts that support sectors including construction, automotive, aerospace, and audio technology. The combination of technical design, specialist machinery, and precision fabrication ensures a dependable supply of high‑performance components for global markets.
A Heritage of Innovation, A Future of Possibility
Throughout our long history, we have continually invested in people, technology, and advanced manufacturing. This includes the introduction of composite panel lines, new production facilities, powder coating technology, cold roll‑forming capabilities, and dedicated regional hubs to better serve customers across the UK.
