Ash & Lacy enhance their Technical Edge

Ash & Lacy Building Systems, leading metal product manufacturers, are proud to appoint Simon Cooper to the position of Technical Director.

With over 30 years experience in the metal cladding industry, Simon is an ideal candidate for the role. He is no stranger to Ash & Lacy, having worked for Ash & Lacy Steel Products for 13 years up to 1990 when he joined fastener supplier SFS intec as Technical Manager where he has been for the last 18 years.

With the retirement of MD Bryan Carey, with whom Simon previously worked at Ash & Lacy, an injection of new skills and experience was required. As well as leading the technical consultancy provided by the company, Simon's role will include the development of new products to enhance the existing portfolio.

“I have seen the requirements of the metal cladding industry change tremendously over the last 30 years, and no doubt this will continue at an even faster rate. Ash and Lacy is a well-established company with a strong brand image and has been at the forefront of change with market-leading innovations such as Ashgrid, Ashjack and Ashtech. I am looking forward to adding my technical experience to the skills of the rest of the team to provide sound and effective solutions to our broad client base. Simon will be dividing his time between working from the Ash & Lacy Headquarters in West Bromwich and working out of the Leeds office, near where he lives in Yorkshire.
