Ash & Lacy's Scottish Operations Double in size Ash & Lacy Bulding System's Scottish headquarters have now doubled in size. The Glasgow depot now occupies twice the space at 25,000sqft as opposed to the previous 12,000sqft. The expansion comes after the success of Ash & Lacy's specification and fabrication products in the Scottish market over the course of 2007. Based on the same site, the facility now occupies the unit next door as well as its original unit. Since 2005 the Glasgow site only held and produced Ashfab products, with all other ranges of materials being transferred from Ash & Lacy's West Bromwich headquarters. The extension now provides the accommodation for £1m of Ash & Lacy's Ashfix fasteners and Ashgrid support bar systems, as well as additional space for specialist fabrications. The ability to manufacture standing seam from the two Ashzip mobile roll formers onsite, means the facility can now offer Ashzip, Ashtech, Ashfab, Ashflow, Ashfix and Ashgrid from a single operational site. Ashgrid is the only spacer support system to offer the Safe-Loc spigot, eliminating the need for bar end fixings and buying time for the installer. To comply with advancing Building Regulations and Standards, Ashwall has also been developed in the same product line, to offer Firewall solutions and accommodate for higher loads, making Ashgrid one of the most diverse spacer system available in the UK. Ashfix offers a fixing for every roofing and cladding application with an extensive range of carbon steel, stainless steel and colour headed fasteners available, all guaranteed under BS EN ISO 9000. Onsite support services are also offered by Sales Managers who can provide best practice guidance and Roofing & Cladding surveys including pull out testing. Architects can specify in confidence and Contractors can now purchase a complete, quality, system from a single source and collect materials at short notice with little disruption to their on site progress. This coupled with the fact that removing the need for road transportation from the Midlands significantly reduces Ash & Lacys' carbon footprint. Ash & Lacy products have been involved in several high profile building projects in Scotland, namely the new £multi-million Celtic FC Training Academy in Lennoxtown, which opened in October last year, boasting an Ashzip roofing system. Ash & Lacy were also selected for the Fife PPP Schools contract as well as Midlothian PPP Schools where multiple sites employed the Ash & Lacy Green Roof system. The larger South Street facility means Ash & Lacy will be more readily equipped to cater for prestigious projects such as these in the future. The Glasgow depot can now also offer a dedicated training facility to conduct both Contractor training and Specifier seminars, along with CPD events. Stuart Ruddy, Business Development Manager, Ash & Lacy, commented 'The expansion is a very healthy sign for our business development - we have been specified on several high profile jobs in Scotland over the past year and the use of this additional facility will help us offer an unparalleled service. On another level, there is the obvious fact that it makes Ash & Lacy's Scottish operations more sustainable while continuing Ash & Lacy's commitment to provide an unparalleled service and total envelope roofing solution to the Scottish market from a single, local source'. The expanded South Street facility is now open and fully operational. Telephone : 0121 525 1444 |
