Ash & Lacy Makes Key Board Appointments


With the retirement of Bryan Carey, leading metal roofing and cladding system manufacturer, Ash & Lacy Building Systems have announced an important restructure of its board of directors.

Ray Harriman has been appointed as Managing Director, with Bryan remaining with the company in a technical and advisory role. The entire team at Ash & Lacy appreciate the contribution that Bryan has made to the company, from their early beginnings to the company’s establishment as a market leader within the Roofing and Cladding industry.

Ray has over 35 years of construction industry experience and has previously been Managing Director of Cladding & Decking UK Ltd, initially part of Dutch steel makers Hoogovens, then Corus after the merger with British Steel.

In addition to this appointment, Ash & Lacy have drawn on the experience of their current staff by promoting five personnel to board level. This action further demonstrates their commitment to meeting the changing needs of the construction industry while driving through the company’s ambitious plans for the future.

Simon Dunn becomes the Director of the Fabrication division.

Simon Grove is the company’s new Sales and Marketing Director.

Derek Hoey is now Distribution division Director.

Tom Kelly is now Specification division Director.

The new look board is completed by Andrew Waterhouse who continues in his position as Financial Director.

Ash & Lacy recently carried out a total reorganisation of its distribution and warehousing logistics, consolidating the operation at its West Bromwich HQ.

2007 has seen the establishment of a new branch in Dewsbury near Leeds, bringing the number of branches to four. The depot in Glasgow is being extended in order to provide an improved response to the requirements to the Scottish market. The former Kingston branch has been relocated to Chessington in Surrey, providing a significant increase in production capacity for London and the South East.

Ash & Lacy have been synonymous with innovative and quality engineering which has lead them to becoming one of the major players in the roofing and cladding industry, growing at a rate of 15% per annum.
