Ashjack, the original over-roof conversion system, has been certificated by the British Board of Agrément (BBA). BBA Certificate Number 04/4177 now applies to the Ashjack system.
Developed by architectural roofing and cladding specialists Ash & Lacy, Ashjack has been used extensively in the conversion of roofs from flat to pitched, both in refurbishment and new-build. Since first being introduced to the market in the late 1980’s over a million m² of flat roofing has been over-roofed using the Ashjack system.
Ashjack is essentially a galvanized structural steel frame and truss based system, which can be individually tailored to meet the specific structural and design requirements of a building to create a pitched or curved roof over an existing flat roof. Available through a network of Ashjack installers, Ash & Lacy have led the way in this sector of the roofing market, offering a high quality permanent solution to failed flat roofs and a lightweight alternative to timber trusses or heavy hot rolled sections in new build applications.
The lightweight structural metal frame system affords an excellent strength to weight ratio to support both modern and traditional over-cladding systems including metal standing seam systems, slate and tiles (both real and metal simulated) to create a new and aesthetically pleasing finish to a building as well as improving the performance of the roof. Ashjack can accommodate a variety of roof pitches and is able to incorporate ridges, hips, valleys, soffit/fascias and overhangs.
