Ash & Lacy Building Systems have developed a new austenitic stainless steel self-drilling fastener for fixing the halter bracket to the roof support structure in standing seam systems. Due to their excellent performance characteristics the use of stainless steel fasteners is generally a requirement for warrantied or specification roofing systems. Key to this development has been the necessity to design a drill point and thread form configuration that would provide high stripping and pullout performances in light steel section up to 2.0 mm thick. The 6.3 mm diameter bi-metal fastener features a hexagon head style and is available with or without a 16 mm diameter stainless steel/EPDM washer.
Although designed essentially for use with the Ashzip standing seam roofing system, the fastener is also suitable for use with many other typical systems.
In 2004 Ash & Lacy launched a new full height halter designed exclusively for use with the company’s Ashzip standing seam roofing envelope system. Removing the need for the conventional bar and bracket it has been well received in the market, offering significant efficiencies in terms of heat loss, while retaining the strength, high durability and ease of installation characteristics so important to standing seam roofing systems.
The new halter is available in three height options: 245, 295 & 345 mm to achieve U-values of 0.25 W/m²K 0.20 W/m²K and 0.16 W/m²K respectively with arrows on the base to ensure correct positioning.
