Ash & Lacy's AshZip standing seam roofing topped the first 2 phases of the prestigious Project Fore in Solihull, West Midlands. The site, developed by BAM Properties, features four brand new office blocks with a spacious car park, set in a fully landscaped country park with ponds and swales.
AshZip standing seam roofing, along with AshFab fabrications and accessories, have been used on Fore 1 and Fore 2, which are now complete. The buildings are 25,000 and 40,000 sq ft respectively and both feature curved Ashzip roofing systems. Roofing contractors, Torclad, specified Ash & Lacy to fit the design brief. Adam Johnson, Managing Director of Torclad commented, "We have used AshZip extensively in the past due to it being highly robust and durable and also very installer-friendly. Standing seam roofing systems can be fairly tricky to install, whereas AshZip is an ideal product to fit onsite and, as with this project, can be self-curving."
Complementing the aesthetics of the standing seam roof is a Torclad Archifab composite roofline, an attribute of which is its ‘inbuilt sympathy’ for a perfect aesthetic outcome – the roofline component has the capability for movement during installation.
The idea behind Project Fore is to provide modern and attractive office space set in calming surroundings with generous parking and convenient access to the UK's motorway network to facilitate business. The completed site is expected to be open by late 2011, with Fore 1 and Fore 2 open for leasing in late 2010.
All AshZip lengths were delivered to site, pre-sized and ready to be laid onto the curved roof bases. Ash & Lacy's prompt delivery system has allowed the installation process to run smoothly and as planned to schedule.
Ash & Lacy now also offer the option of independent auditing by AWM – Auditing Workmanship & Materials Ltd - which gives a client comfort that the correct materials and workmanship has been employed on a project, at no additional cost. The Ash & Lacy Ashure Warranty scheme shows their commitment to the customer, through partnership with producers of quality products used in conjunction with their own. The AWM Warranty is a controlled extension to that commitment, which has to be requested at the inception of the project to ensure that all stages are properly monitored.
Ray Harriman, Managing Director, Ash & Lacy added, "'On top of our extensive customer services, the AWM PROTECTOR WARRANTY provides inspection of a project at key stages, ensuring that poor workmanship does not take place. It also ensures that the correct materials are used, providing peace of mind to the client; and in the current economic climate, this is one of the most important factors and key reasons Ash & Lacy made the decision to partner with AWM for future projects."
