Project: Halesowen Bus Station
Location: Halesowen
Product: AshTech
Architect: Jefferson Sheard Architects
Developer: Amey
Sector: Transport

Ash & Lacy Building Systems has provided around 500m² of AshTech rainscreen cladding panels for Halesowen's new landmark bus station.

The £3.5m bus station is a part of a £30m regeneration scheme to build a better Halesowen and provide a safe, friendly environment for residents and visitors to the town.

The bus station features Ash & Lacy's ACM AshTech cladding panels in Sunrise Silver, giving it an appearance to match its stateof- the art technology. Specified as a result of value-engineering, the AshTech system featured on the project is a combination of flat, cranked and curved panels which were supplied to site pre-fabricated ready to be fixed.

Developed by Amey in Birmingham, the station utilises high quality waiting areas for passengers, with electronic doors which open automatically when a bus arrives, CCTV, electronic information displays and an attractive entrance canopy.

The building façade features the AshTech panels to complement its modern shape with curves and apexes; combined with a bright blue walled area to give an overall fresh, striking appearance.

This development was also coupled with the building of a new supermarket adjacent to the station, which features the same bold blue walls, enhancing the initiative to revamp the town centre.

Paolo Boscolo, Project Architect, Jefferson Sheard Architects commented, "Ash & Lacy's team of technical experts were extremely efficient whenever we had a query."

Project Managers, Amey, were responsible for over-seeing the development and ensuring the design-brief was answered successfully. Ash & Lacy's prompt and professional delivery system aided them in doing just this.

Halesowen bus station is now fully operational and open to passengers.
