« Arsenios & Konteas, Cyprus »
Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at 5:11AM Ash & Lacy Building Systems have provided the crowning glory for two projects in Cyprus. The Arsenios and Konteas developments have been completed using the quality of AshZip technology. The Arsenios - a series of 4 buildings which form part of a school, boasts Ash & Lacy's curved roof cladding and curved structural deck, whilst the Konteas - a co-op office block, displays Ash & Lacy's AshZip used in a nonstandard application, as horizontal standing seam cladding.
The two schemes, in conjunction with Cypriot structural steel erection and fabrication company K&K Steelworks Limited, Larnaca, can be heralded as first time Ash & Lacy products have been employed within Cyprus. K&K Steelworks revealed that they had sourced Ash & Lacy on the internet and chose to use them after a visit to their headquarters in West Bromwich. Charis Keravnos, co-owner of K&K Steelworks, commented that they had been extremely impressed with their 'prompt response and competitive prices compared to other suppliers' and above all, 'their ability too meet the unusual design spec laid down by the architects'. He added that they would ‘most definitely use Ash & Lacy products again, as a result of smooth and efficient delivery and installation of the panels’.
AshZip standing seam technology was developed by Ash & Lacy to enhance the total roofing and also in this case cladding, envelope package solution the company could offer. By incorporating other high performance Ash & Lacy building products into the system, compatibility from all components is ensured, proving why AshZip is now an unbeatable choice amongst both specifiers and contractors.
Ash & Lacy shipped all cladding materials directly to the building sites in the bespoke sizes and shapes specified, ready curved where necessary. Shipment of equipment from the UK took only 3 - 4 weeks, so the panels could be ordered during a more advanced stage of project development, arriving 'just-in time' and removing the need for a large stock hold onsite.
Although not required on this specific project, Ash & Lacy also offer an overseas rolling service, where containerised roll formers, along with specialist Ash & Lacy technicians, can be exported to the site to roll and curve panels accordingly - a feature which is particularly beneficial for large scale projects.
Arsenios and Konteas are not the only examples of Ash & Lacy's association with overseas projects. Recent applications have included projects in Nigeria, Hong Kong and Russia.
