Premier roof for premier pet centre
After the success of the
first pet resort in East Manchester, a second luxurious resort has
recently been built in Morley, Leeds complimented by Ash & Lacy's
Ashzip Roofing. Mypetstop was founded around the idea for an all
inclusive, purpose-built pet resort and care centre. Pet owners
are often involved in a long and arduous search for proper accommodation
for their pets; when they are away on holiday, or for work reasons
etc. As a result, Mypetstop was developed as one of the first and
finest pet resorts in the UK catering for the needs of cats, dogs,
small pets and birds.
Quarmby Construction Company Limited,
working closely with the Harris Partnership, were responsible for
overseeing the Leeds project which covers approximately
4 acres of land and consists of 30,000 sq. ft of indoor space. Watershed
Roofing, the roofing contractors for the project, used Ash and Lacy's
Ashgrid spacer support system and Ashzip roofing to create an impressive
looking roof. Comprising some 1,100m 2 in 0.9 aluminium sheet finished
in slate grey. The aluminium was site rolled at eaves level directly
onto the roof in sheet lengths of almost 30 metres. The system provides
optimal thermal performance and excellent weather resistance, ensuring
that the cosiness and comfort of mypetstop is maintained. Also supplied
was a 0.7mm steel walkable liner with a white polyester coating.
The Ashgrid spacer support system forms an integral part of the
Ashzip standing seam roofing package. It involves the use of an
adjustable fully engineered bar and bracket with robust metals to
effectively maintain the roof and wall cladding systems. The system
meets the requirements of the Approved Document L2 and also provides
an assessed firewall solution.
Mr. Dipak Prajapati, Cladding Manager of Watershed Roofing comments
"Ash & Lacy are probably one of the best supplier of roofing
products in terms of quality of fasteners and technical support
as well as providing good, clear literature, for a wide range of
ancillaries they supply."
An extensive range of facilities are available at mypetstop. It
provides pet boarding called pet apartments which are cosy, bright
and decorated to make a pet feel comfortable, with sound-proofing
to customised play areas. For owners who need someone to look after
their pet during work, there are day crèche and night crèche
facilities available.
For pets who enjoy a swim there is an indoor pool heated at 27C,
with a hydrotherapy option should your pet need expert physiotherapy,
whilst pet owners can relax at the pool suite. To keep pets healthy
and happy there is fully-equipped grooming salons and pet owners
can find a Banfield Pet Hospital at every mypetstop staffed by experienced
vets. Professional training classes and events are also available
throughout the week to enhance the bond between the pet owner and
pet, including a large indoor training arena with the capacity to
accommodate 800 people.
The stylish design of mypetstop was of significant importance, a
reason why Harris Partnership, Architects of Wakefield, and Mario
Minchella were selected for their architectural skills to achieve
the quality look of the pet resort.
